Where do the eyes go first? To the edge of things. Consider walking into a house for the first time. The eyes follow the crown moulding and the baseboards. They linger in the corner of the room. When we look at people, we see the outlines of shapes: a profile, an eye, a belly, a butt. Our literal definitions do not define us but, rather, describe us. It’s instinctive for us to examine the world this way.

This blog shares one woman’s experience of bringing a derelict, broken-down house back to life with the great aspiration of restoring its clean edges as well as her own.
